Oshiomhole wins Edo governorship election, Buries PDP Finally

Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, the incumbent Governor of Edo state has been declared the winner of yesterday’s governorship election in the state.  He polled 477,478 votes to defeat his closet rival Charles E. Airhiarvbere, of PDP who got  a  disappointing 144,235 votes.

The results of other parties are: ANPP 3,064, CPC 2,793, LP 604 and NCP 540 Reports say Gov. Oshiomohole won in the wards of the
PDP candidate Maj. Gen. Charles Airhiavbere (rtd) and the party’s godfather, Tony Anenih.

Meanwhile, President Goodluck Jonathan has congratulated Comrade Oshiomhole on the new mandate given him by the people of the state.

The president says “he expects that the Governor will work even harder in his second term to justify the confidence in his leadership clearly expressed by the Edo State electorate yesterday and assures him that  the Federal Government will continue to give all  possible support and assistance for development in  the state.”
