In form Rivers Angels forward, Amarachi Ojinma have set a target of becoming the highest goal scorer of the 2016 season of the Nigeria Women Premier League.
The 2014 NWPL highest goal scorer who had a setback last season due to an ankle injury have so far registered 2 goals for Rivers Angels Football Club
Ojinma scored her first goal of the season during a 4-1 victory of Rivers Angels over Martins White Doves in the first game played at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin.
The forward went on to register her second goal in a week two clash against Sunshine Queens with the Port Harcourt side emerging with a 2-0 win.
Ojinma who scored 17 goals to finish as the 2014 NWPL highest goal scorer was however skeptical on the number of goals she intends to score this season
“Am looking forward to being the highest goal scorer this season, I couldn’t make it last season because of injury, I’m praying to God to help me this season, by his grace I believe I’ll be the highest goal scorer this season.”
“I’ll put more effort to score in each match I play” said Ojinma.
Meanwhile, Rivers Angels will be on the road this weekend to take on Adamawa Queens at the Fofure Township Stadium on Sunday in a week 3 game of the NWPL.
