Top All Progressive Congress (APC) leaders on Wednesday met with Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja to table crucial party and national issues.
The meeting, which was the first of its kind, at the Presidential Villa, took place at the absence of President Muhammadu Buhari who is away in far away Saudi Arabia on official trip.
Source said the meeting told our correspondent that the party leaders deliberated on the urgent need for the national assembly to quickly pass the 2016 budget despite the crisis that trilled the presentation.
The source who spoke to our correspondent, on the condition of anonymity said the issue of confidence building in the leadership of the national assembly was also a major issues as well as the urgent need to fill all appointment into vacant positions in the country of party loyalists.
Those in attendance at the meeting presided over by Osinbajo were former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, APC chairman Chief Odigie Oyegun, APC National leader Bola Tinubu; Saraki, Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Yusuff Lasun; Secretary to the Government of the Federation Mr. Babachir Lawal and Mr. Segun Oni, APC South West leader.
Others are former chairman of the APC Chief Bisi Akande; minister of science and technology Dr. Ogonnaya Onu; Chief Tony Momoh; Imo State Deputy Governor Mr. Eze Madumere; APC leaders from all the geo-political zones and other political aids of the VP.
Meanwhile in a two paragraph statement, Laolu Akande, senior special adviser (SSA) media to the VP said the meeting of the discussed issues of mutual benefits to the APC and the country.
“Select leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, drawn from the party’s National Headquarters, the legislative and executive arms of government had a consultative meeting on issues affecting the party and the nation,” he said in the statement.
“The meeting, which held at the Vice President’s conference room, was very useful and resourceful towards achieving the goals of the party and the government”.
